“Voices for peace: Breaking the cycle of violence in Palestine”, IPB Barcelona Conference
Where: Oriol Bohigas Room at the Ateneu Barcelonès
Organizes: International Peace Bureau
Type of event: Talks
In light of the recent escalation of violence in Palestine, International Peace Bureau office in Barcelona, together with Centre Delàs for Peace Studies and the support of Barcelona City Council, organizes this conference dedicated to the analysis of the unfolding situation, the examination of the factors contributing to this escalation and a collective exploration of potential avenues for resolution.
We gather leaders, experts, and civil society actors to address these questions and together offer practical steps that we as ordinary people and government can take to dissect the dynamics at play, seeking a deeper understanding of the root causes behind the increased violence. Through dialogue and the exchange of diverse perspectives, we aspire to shed light on the complexities of the current crisis in Palestine. By doing so, we hope to identify practical steps and solutions that can contribute to alleviating tensions and fostering a more stable and harmonious future for the people in the region.
To address this issues we invited experts and Palestinian and Israeli peace activists:
- Amani Aruri, Palestinian peace and Human Rights activist, IPB Palestina member
- Sharon Dolev, Israeli peace and Middle East disarmament activist, Israeli IPB member
- Teresa Aranguren, international journalist, author of the book “Palestina, el hilo de la memoria”
The event will take place next December 13th, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., at the Oriol Bohigas Room at the Ateneu Barcelonès (c/ de la Canuda, 6, 08002 Barcelona). The event is open to all the public and requires prior registration, which can be found at this link.
