Stop Killer Robots

Fully autonomous weapons could decide who deserves to live and who deserves to die, without the need for any human intervention. As machines, they do not have the human judgment necessary to make ethical decisions or simply to distinguish between civilians and combatants. The United States, China, Israel, South Korea, Russia and the United Kingdom are developing systems with considerable autonomy in attacking targets.

For all these reasons, the Stop Killer Robots campaign fights for fully autonomous weapons to be banned. Each country should approve a treaty to veto them, and both organizations and technology companies and developers of robotic and artificial intelligence should commit not to contribute to the development of fully autonomous weapons.
